The Regent Berlin would like to support the aims of the BILD newspaper’s charitable organization “Ein Herz für Kinder” with your help and to give some children the chance of a warm meal during the day. With the choice of an “Ein Herz für Kinder” meal you are helping the foundation with a donation of € 5 or € 10 and thereby also children living in poverty in Germany.
The association funds and supports many institutions, among them soup kitchens and child help organizations in Germany. Three million children live below the poverty line in the Federal Republic and there is an upward trend. More than 800,000 children are malnourished. In the soup kitchens and child help organizations children do not just receive a warm meal. They receive attention, sympathy, an open ear for problems as well as help with homework. In addition trips and leisure activities in vacation times are organized for the children.
In 1978 Axel Springer set up the BILD’s charitable organization – initially as a campaign for greater and safety. The BILD’s charity “Ein Herz für Kinder” now encompasses a large spectrum and has developed into one of the most effective and multifunctional charitable organizations in Germany, Europe and the World and two-thirds of all donations received are used in Germany alone.
